How it works

Dutasteride works by blocking type I and type II 5-alpha reductase enzymes, which decreases the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

Side Effects

Common side effects of dutasteride include decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorders, and breast tenderness.

Drug Interactions

Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole or ritonavir may increase dutasteride levels in the body.
